Mrs. Ryann Flunder

My name is Ryann Flunder, and I am truly honored and excited to introduce myself as one of the assistant principals at Lawrenceville Elementary School! Lawrenceville takes pride in its outstanding students and staff, its welcoming atmosphere, and its unwavering commitment to LEADing and excellence.

As an assistant principal, my mission is to ensure that every student not only enjoys their school experience but also receives rigorous and meaningful learning opportunities, thrives academically, emotionally, and socially, and feels valued and safe. My role extends to supporting our incredible teachers, staff, and families, whose dedication to our students I deeply appreciate. I am eager to collaborate with students, staff, parents, and the school community.

In 2001 I began my teaching career in sunny Florida where I was born and raised. There, I taught and inspired first graders until moving to Georgia in 2003. I come to Lawrenceville Elementary with 24 years of educational experience as a kindergarten, 1st, 4th, and 5th grade classroom teacher. Additionally, I’ve worked as an Interrelated Resource teacher and ESOL Lead teacher. For the past 18 years I’ve been a part of Black Knight Country, and I’m thrilled to continue serving the community as the newest assistant principal at Lawrenceville!

I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Bethune-Cookman College, Master’s degree from Troy State University, and my Specialist’s degree and Tier II Leadership certification from Mercer University.

When I’m relaxing at home, I’m a boy mom. My oldest, Jordan, is a GCPS graduate and currently a student at Georgia Gwinnett College. Bryce is a GCPS high school senior. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, writing, and spending time with friends and family. As a proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated, I enjoy participating in different volunteer opportunities in the community. Let’s not forget that I am also a “foodie” and love trying new restaurants.

I am eager to collaborate with students, staff, parents, and the broader community to foster an environment where every child can excel socially, emotionally, and academically. Together, we will continue to build on the tradition of excellence here at Lawrenceville. Go Black Knights!
